Rose and the environment

At Rose we have formulated an environment policy which contributes to retaining the environmental awareness and to ensuring that our environmental conduct matches the intentions. The formulated policy includes both the working environment and the external environment.

The working environment
One of the company’s most important resources is the employees and work is constantly being done on creating a better, healthier and safer working environment. Both animals and people must be treated with respect and consideration. The environment policy is particularly focused on safety – on the prevention and handling of accidents, ventilation conditions, working posture and lifting, the psychological working environment, noise and more. Both safety and well-being must be in place.

The external environment
We also endeavour to reduce the strain on nature’s resources as much as possible. For a number of years we have focused on energy consumption and we have defined some very high requirements to ourselves in this respect. But also water consumption, pollution, animal transportation and the handling of waste water, chemicals, packaging, waste, etc. are covered by our written environment policy.

“Self-supporting”
At all the factories, we are working on optimising by using the re-circulation and zero waste principle and with that in mind, both Vinderup and Skovsgaard have established their own waste water and water purification systems as well as their own power stations. Therefore, Rose is able to produce its own energy. And the excess energy that the factories cannot make use of is used for the production of electricity and is sold on to the municipality.
How well this all succeeds in practice is stated in the green accounts we send each year to the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency.
